World's Fastest Electric Car Chargers Head to Wirral

Plans to build 36 electric vehicle charging bays at the Wirral International Business Park have been submitted.

Gridserve, a sustainable energy business has recently submitted proposals to build top-quality electric car charging bays in Wirral. 

 

The 36 electric vehicle charging bays, which are planned for Wirral International Business Park in Bromborough, will enable drivers to charge their vehicles in 20-30 minutes. Gridserve says that this is currently the world's fastest charging rate, with the potential for even quicker charging in the future. 

 

Toddington Harper, chief executive of Gridserve, said: “A large number of affordable EVs [electric vehicles] are now available, with many more on the way and we’re about to see a steep growth curve in electric vehicle adoption.

 

“By developing this state-of-the-art Electric Forecourt in Bromborough, we’ll be supporting Wirral Council, local residents, and the UK as a whole to tackle air pollution, encourage low-carbon transport, and meet climate targets, while also offering a solution that’s future proofed to support the mass uptake of electric vehicles.
