World Cup 2014: Day 12 of the Tournament
Day 12 is the day when Brazil, Mexico, and Croatia will vie for the last-16 berth in the final round of Group A matches.
13:04 23 June 2014
World Cup 2014’s Day 12 is set to be a manic Monday as three countries, host Brazil, Mexico, and Croatia vying for a last-16 berth in the final round for Group A matches. Although Croatia needs to win a match to get through, Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil just need a draw to get through against eliminated Cameroon. However, winning the match will guarantee them top spot.
Both those matches kick off at 21:00 BST
As for the Group B, it is also the final chapter of their saga with Chile and Netherlands already through. On the other hand, Chile have to win over Dutch to finish top and to probably avoid a second-round meeting with Brazil.
Mark Lawrenson prediction: Cameroon v Brazil, Group A: Brazil should win and top the group but they have been OK at best so far. I was at their last group game and they struggled to break down Mexico - I just think they move the ball too slowly. You can also get at them when they don't have the ball."
Lawro's prediction: Cameroon 0-2 Brazil: "I am going to go for Mexico to get the point they need because I was impressed by them against Brazil. They play with three centre-backs but Rafael Marquez comes out from the back and the wing-backs bomb on. Oribe Peralta looked a decent player as well up front."
