07:09 23 June 2020
Worcestershire County Council has organised a new "lockdown academy" that offers online courses covering a wide range of digital skills during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Offered by FutureLearn, a leading education provider, the 'Accenture Digital Skills' are designed to help people build confidence about digital skills that could prove really useful once lockdown is fully lifted.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: "We appreciate learning 'online' can be a very different experience to conventional face to face learning and is not always as easily accessible for people unfamiliar with digital technology."
Interested parties are able to access the free online courses, which will take place at 11am on Wednesday mornings, using Zoom. They will have the opportunity to gain advice and support from library and learning staff regarding online learning. The full list of sessions available cover: User Experience - June 24, Web Analytics - July 1, Mobile - July 8 and Retail - July 15.
To register, interested parties are encouraged to send email to gglenister@worcestershire.gov.uk. They will receive an email containing details of introductory sessions that they can take advantage of. The full range of courses are listed at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/adultlearning.
