Wikileaks: Bradley Manning in court

The Wikileaks suspect is in court in Maryland

The American soldier Bradley Manning, aged 25, is in court on Monday, 3rd June. He is accused of leaking classified information to the website Wikileaks. The trial is being held in Maryland.

Allegedly Manning sent 250,000 diplomatic cables to Wikileaks. He also allegedly leaked thousands of battlefield reports to Wikileaks.

Reportedly he has pleaded guilty to almost half of the 22 charges against him. Manning denies aiding the enemy, which is the most serious of the charges.

Manning was arrested three years ago and attended court earlier this year. He stayed in the Ecuador embassy in the UK for 12 months after being granted asylum there. Manning faces being extradited to Sweden in connection to sex accusations. He denies these sex accusations.
