However, WiFi networks have many variables and it is not uncommon for many users to experience wifi dead spots, which can be extremely frustrating as it can affect business operations. Fortunately, you can do something about this as there are various tools available (some are cheap while others are free) that you can use to help you visualise the coverage, interference and performance as well as provide you with heatmaps of the signals and other data.
iBwave WiFi mobile, which has the highest price tag among Android-based survey app, features an intuitive app design and GUI, cloud-synching ability and compatible PC viewer app. However, it does not display survey heatmaps for individual APs.
Meanwhile, WiFi Visualiser is the simplest surveying app that captures the signal levels of the AP you’re currently using. It is a free app that saves the SSID list and graphs on the stumbler side. This could be a useful tool to utilize in addition to others.
The WiTuners Mobile app, on the other hand, is targeted towards the enterprise market. It can remotely monitor the WiFi, detect and track rogue AP, and support spectrum analyser. It is one of the apps that works on Android tablets and is also user-friendly.
