WiFi Calling
Wi-Fi calling allows you to make and receive phone calls using a Wi-Fi network instead of traditional mobile network.

Wi-Fi calling provides an alternate option to traditional mobile network. It works the same way as existing VoIP services such as Skype, Viber, and WhatsApp but Wi-Fi calling is link directly with your phone number and offers a more standalone communication platform.
The service is offered by many telecommunication companies including Vodafone, O2, EE and Three. Many customers may not even notice that they are actually using a Wi-Fi network when making or receiving a call, although they get an icon in the status bar that alerts them of the type of connection they are currently using.
It is important to note that this service has certain limitations. For example, if you start a call on Wi-Fi and you suddenly found yourself outside of your network range, your call will not be automatically transferred to your mobile network.
An O2 spokesperson said, "We regularly review our products and services based on customer feedback. In the meantime, we're flattered to see others following our lead on wifi calling."
Danny Dixon, director of customer strategy, added; "Seamless connectivity on mobile and Wi-Fi is a key part of our future strategic direction and we've developed Three inTouch in such a way that we can evolve it to support embedded voice and text over Wi-Fi.
