More and more consumers are now switching from traditional TV to streaming. Such service allows you to watch your favourite TV shows and movies anytime, anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. Some of the biggest players in the streaming market are Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Now TV. If you haven’t decided on which service to sign up for, this article will help you make up your mind.
Let’s start with the price. Netflix’s pricing starts at £5.99 per month. With this price, you get to watch on one screen at a time. The standard service has a £7.99 price tag. With this, you’ll get HD with the ability to stream from two screens at once. If you want HD, Ultra HD, and the ability to stream on up to four screens, you will need to sign up to premium plan, which has a £9.99 price tag.
Amazon Prime Video, on the other hand, is £7.99 per month, but you can opt to sign up to an annual plan that costs £79 per year. It works out at £6.58 per month. With this service, you can stream on two devices at once.
Now TV has different subscription plans. Its Now TV Entertainment Pass is £7.99 per month while its Now TV Cinema Pass costs £9.99 per month.
When making a decision, it is important to take into consideration the devices that you’re going to use. For example, Netflix is supported by smart TVs from Sony, Samsung, Sharp, LG, Philips, Panasonic, and Toshiba. Amazon Prime Video, on the other hand, limits the devices to the ones from Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic.
When it comes to prices and device compatibility, it may seem that the three services are more or less the same. What we consider to be the deal breaker here is your choice of TV shows and movies. Examples of original series on Netflix are Stranger Things, Riverdale, House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black. Amazon also has some really successful originals, including The Man in the High Tower, Mr Robot, Ripper Street, American Gods and Black Sails. On Now TV, you’ll find original content from Sky’s Channels and these include The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
