Westminster Fibre Broadband Rollout
Westminster now the second-best borough in London for full-fiber connectivity.

Westminster, which used to have the reputation for having some of the worst connectivity in London, is now the second-best borough across the city capital for full fibre availability.
The stark improvement is the fruit of labour of the local council who have been working very hard over the past few years to bring full fibre broadband connection to as many private and commercial premises in the area. From September 2019 to January 2020, the council successfully delivered connectivity to additional 12,932 properties, three times the rate than any other London borough.
Councillor Matthew Green, Westminster City Council Member for Business and Planning said: "It's a fantastic achievement that Westminster City Council has managed to roll out fibre broadband at such an incredible rate. In the current climate, it's more important than ever that our residents and businesses can stay connected and continue to work. Moreover, a significant proportion of distance working, learning and shopping will continue after the pandemic has passed, and therefore this improvement in infrastructure will allow all our residents to stay connected."
