Conde Nast Traveler has released its annual list of World’s Friendliest Cities in the World with Melbourne landing the top spot for the 2014 study alongside Auckland, New Zealand.
Melbourne was praised for its “abundance of parks and fabulous public art.” Meanwhile, Melbournians were described as “friendly bunch… famous for their wonderful sense of humour.”
Also in Australia, Sydney ranked fifth on the list and was voted “the most beautiful large city in the world.”
Nowhere in the UK made the friendliest cities list, but then again Britain didn’t feature in the unfriendliest cities list either. France, on the other hand, had three showings in the top 10 unfriendliest cities.
