Waltham Forest Technology and House Building
£1.25million initiative aims to investigate how technology could be used to monitor house building.
19:00 17 July 2019
A £1.25million initiative has been launched to investigate how technology could be used to monitor development – from permission to completion and occupation - in the Waltham Forest Council area of East London. The Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition aims to help urban planners make informed decisions and encourage public sector bodies to take advantage of available technology.
Interested organisations that wish to apply should be able to blend existing Waltham Forest Council records, such as council tax records, with other data sets such as postal addresses. They must also be able to determine how new technologies, from satellite imaging to collaborative maintenance of date, can be used to collect and analyse data. In addition, they must be able to investigate how a system might assess uncertainty in data sources and increase the accuracy of statistics of forecast completion dates.
The competition opens on 15 July 2019 and the deadline for registration is at midday on 21 August 2019. More information about the competition will be announced at TechUK in London on 15 July 2019.
