Waitrose: Delia is out, Pippa is in

Delia’s food column on Waitrose magazine was given to Pippa Middleton. Pippa’s Friday Night Feasts will start in the April issue

Unbelievable! This is the reaction of some people when news that Delia’s food column for Waitrose was given to Pippa Middleton. This is in spite of the latter’s unsuccessful party guidebookwhich was released last Christmas. 

If qualifications are the only ones that matters, surely Delia deserves the column more? For one, she has sold 21 million cookery books and has thousands of followers who relied on her cooking know-how for decades. 

 

Pippa released a party guide style cookbook called Celebrate and it was a Christmas flop. 

 

Talking about her new endeavour, she said: “It will be an exciting opportunity to share my own passion and enthusiasm for food and entertaining.

 

“I’m delighted to be writing for Waitrose Kitchen, a magazine that’s always been a source of inspiration to me.”

 

On the other hand, editor William Sitwell seems to be equally enthusiastic about the latest signing. He said: “Readers will love her relaxed and easy entertaining ideas which will help with the preparation for all sorts of occasions.”
