Virtual Reality construction training to become a part of Leeds College of Building's National Apprenticeship Week 2022.
12:22 09 February 2022
Leeds College of Building is set to offer Virtual Reality construction training as part of the National Apprenticeship Week 2022.
Attendees will be able to join numerous activities, including piloting a drone over a building site, at the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair (LARF).
The fair offers interested parties an unrivalled opportunity to meet and speak to some of the UK's biggest employers and trainers.
Leeds College of Building is inviting event-goers to visit their sand (50E) to experience the latest VR technology currently used to teach students various aspects of construction and the built environment. Virtual scenarios can include using virtual tools to simulate spray painting or wood machining.
The use of VR technology by students at Leeds College of Building is made possible by CONVERT (Construction Virtual Environment Resource Training), a two-year UK-wide collaborative project led by the Construction Wales Innovation Centre. It is funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), which offers innovative and bespoke construction learning resources available to the Further and Higher Education sector.
