Samsung has announced Bixby digital assistant that lets you do everything with voice commands instead of poking, swiping and tapping at your phone.
Bixby is a sequel of sorts of S Voice, the voice-control app Samsung has launched years ago but since hidden on recent devices.
In a blog post, Samsung says that Bixby will debut on Galaxy S8 and can be activated with a dedicated button. The firm promises that Bixby will let you control everything on your phone with your voice and that it will be better at understanding natural language than rival digital assistants. While the iPhone has Siri and some Android phones has Google Assistant, more and more users still tap on their screen the old fashion way to run apps or to browse the internet.
Bixby was developed because apparently, Samsung thinks that phones have grown too complicated to use. As such, the firm is looking for more natural ways to interact with the technology. It is the same concept that is currently being explored on screen-free devices.
