Vodafone has launched two wearables – a band and a watch that “enable parents to stay in contact with their children when they start to give them more independence.”
The V-Kids Watch by Vodafone has a physical SIM card embedded in the V-SOS band and does not require a smartphone to operate. Parents can easily preprogram it to include important contacts. It has a 450mAH battery that provides three days’ power and features SoS and location functions. The smaller band, on the other hand, provides a month of power and fine-grained geolocation features.
Vodafone has previously released IOT trackers, including V-Pet (used for tracking pets), V-Bag (used for tracking luggage), and a car tracker. Although some of the firm’s products improve some consumer offerings, others have features that require improvements. For example, the backpack requires recharging every four hours while the auto box only adds a modern safety feature to older cars.
