Looking at Virgin Media's third quarterly preliminary results, it seems unlikely that their target of 800,000 connections to their new Project Lightning broadband service will be met.
The forcasted connection for this year was 700,000 - 800,000 but so far just 376,000 have been connected.
The amount of connections to date, since the start of the programme is 943,000.
This leaves some way to go to reach the 2019 final target of 4 million connections for this £3bn project.
In March, Virgin admitted that they had overstated the provision time of the service and on BBC's Watchdog programme in July, it was reported that of the 200Mbps speed service that had originally been sold to customers, some were receiving just 3% of this.
This admission resulted in four staff being suspended and a shift around of """"its top brass.""""
It has been said by insiders that the large number of redundancies and branches closing are a result of this over estimation of connections.
There have been latency issues with its Intel Puma 6 CPU SuperHub 3.0 but these were not updated on.
The 36 month payment plans for the iPhone 8 have been described as "innovative," though Ofcom did express concern regarding the transparency of Virgin's terms of contract of the payment plan.
