Vicki Fowler is set to leave the hit BBC soap EastEnders.

Vicki Fowler is set to leave EastEnders later this year.

Scarlet Johnson, who plays the troubled teenager, says she wants to try other things after two years in the hit soap.

Vicki was the product of a controversial storyline back in the 1980s when Den Watts had an affair with Michelle Fowler, a school friend of his adopted daughter, Sharon.

After growing up with her mum in the US, Vicki turned up in the Square in 2002 seeking out her gran - Pauline.

She has since become part of the square's most dysfunctional family - the Watts.

"She feels she's gone as far as she can with the character," a source close to the actress told the Daily Mirror. "She feels it's time to explore other options."

EastEnders has suffered poor ratings of late and producers are desperately seeking some exciting storylines to get everyone talking about it again.

Vicki is due to say her goodbyes in October.
