VELUX Skylights have introduced VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO, the first ever Apple HomeKit-compatible smart skylight system designed to help you improve indoor temperature and air quality. Using Siri or the button on the Apple Home app, homeowners can automatically open the skylights multiple times on a daily basis to remove stale, polluted air or adjust blinds to bring in or block natural light.
Nels Moxness, president and CEO of VELUX Canada, said: "VELUX ACTIVE takes the guess work out, it makes it easier to achieve a healthy and comfortable indoor climate.”
"There is no longer a need to program or operate a remote control timer, it thinks for you, the system has the ability to recognise a need for fresh air and open the skylights automatically."
The smart system has been designed to monitor C02, humidity levels and temperature in the home as well as local weather stations to make necessary adjustments.
Fred Potter, founder and CEO of Netatmo, said: "VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO is the result of two stunning technologies: high standard VELUX skylights and Netatmo's know-how for creating simple and useful products and apps. By automating the opening, closing and shading of skylights, we can make a big difference and improve indoor climate so users don't have to worry about it."
