Johnny Vegas has been cut from the cast of ITV's hit holiday sitcom 'Benidorm', as fresh characters are to be brought in.
Vegas told The Sun that he will miss being a part of the show but understands the reasoning behind the decision.
He said: "Benidorm's happening again but I won't be part of it.
"Unfortunately, it will be fun in the sun without us.
"It's great. The show moves on. Best of luck to them."
Johnny played The Oracle – a master of the pub quiz, who holidayed with his mother.
An ITV insider added: "The Oracle will not be returning to Benidorm this year but other new characters will be introduced.
"It has been a great pleasure working with Johnny and we thank him for his fantastic commitment to the phenomenal success of Benidorm over the past four years.
"The new series of Benidorm kicks off in 2011. But fans can get a fix later this year when the show returns in a one-off special."
At the end of the third series The Oracle found love and sailed into the sunset.
