Daniel Radcliffe, who is known worldwide for playing the role of famous Harry Potter, is set to reunite with The Woman in Black director James Watkins for a film drama about sportsman Sebastian Coe.
Entitled Gold, the movie traces the Olympian’s rivalry with Steve Ovett. The story is written by Simon Beaufoy, who won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire in 2009, and Will Davies.
While Radcliffe has been confirmed to play as Coe, it is not yet known who will play Ovett in the production.
Beaufoy said the film was a brilliant story. He added: "I hadn't realised how good it was until you dig into their past," he said. "They were fantastically different athletes and different people.
"And they rarely met... apart from on the track - but not very often, even on the track."
Meanwhile, Christine Langan, who will be the film’s executive producer described the film as "Compelling, funny and moving, Gold is a gem of a story.”
