UK Leading The Way
UK remains world leader in technology as it rolls out 5G networks.

In order to maintain its position as world leader in technology, the UK needs to be on the front foot and accelerate investment to roll out 5G networks.
The government’s 5G strategy is essential to improve the country’s digital economy but now, more than ever, it is crucial to prioritise mobile so we won’t be left behind by South Korea, the only major market in the world to reach 100per cent 4G coverage. To achieve this, spectrum holdings must be rebalanced to compel operators to invest into the 5G evolution. Currently, one mobile network operator holds more than 35per cent of all usable spectrum.
It is also important to establish partnerships between operators, national and local government and communities to create a framework that will facilitate the efficient and effective deployment of mobile networks as well as a more supportive planning regime to allow operators to roll out digital infrastructure faster and in a more cost-efficient manner.
In order to ensure that the UK stays on track to becoming the global leader in 5G, we need to start collaborating and addressing challenges in laying a strong foundation for the said technology.
