Men in general don’t seem to be comfortable talking about health and sickness. In fact, they are often the last ones to seek medical attention even if they’re suffering from different illnesses.
However, from June 10th to June 16th, the UK celebrates Men’s Health Week. Men’s Health Forum (MHF), an independent charity which aims to help men and boys, encourages men of all ages to go ahead and talk to a medical practitioner to ensure that they are in good shape.
MHF was formed in 1994 and has been focusing on helping men who have the worst health conditions cope up with their situation. The charity helps these men see how they can make a difference. They also assure these men that they have someone to turn to if they need medical help and advice.
Men’s Health Week theme this year is “You only live once so talk to someone.”
From June 10th to 16th, the charity will hold a variety of events focusing on promoting mental health well-being in men. The charity will also launch new services to raise awareness on mental health issues, and will have new publications available for health providers to empower them to assist men with health problems.
