UK 5G City Update
Local carriers have successfully deployed 5G in various UK cities during the second half of 2019.

EE, BT and 02 have successfully launched their 5G networks during the second half of 2019 bringing the technology to main cities and large towns across the UK.
EE launched 5G in Hull, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Sheffield and Sunderland in December. It has recently announced that it has expanded its coverage and now provides 5G services in 50 cities and large towns across the country. The number is expected to increase to 70 by March 2020.
Meanwhile, BT launched its 5G mobile services in October and is already available in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Coventry, Belfast, Bristol and Leicester. 02 also announced the launching of its 5G network in October covering certain areas of Edinburgh, Belfast, London, Slough and Leeds.
In July, Vodafone launched 5G services in Bolton, Birkenhead, Gatwick, Lancaster, Newbury, Plymouth, Stroke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and London.
Meanwhile, UK telecommunications regular Ofcom had recently confirmed plans to release additional spectrum for the provision of 5G services in spring 2020. It confirmed that the auction will include 80 megahertz in the 700 MHz band and 120 megahertz in the 3.6-3.8 GHz band to support the expansion of 5G services across the UK.
