Reports have confirmed that a Bradford-based two-year-old girl, together with a woman in her 30s, fell from a window of a terraced house. The child was pronounced dead in a local hospital after suffering from serious injuries. Meanwhile, the woman is in critical condition. It is understood that an investigation is underway.
Coun Khan, a long-time resident of Bradford, said: “The family had just recently moved into the area. It’s unbelievable.
“Apparently, the woman had recently moved from somewhere else – another city – to this area. My understanding is that nobody knew her that well.”
“It happened at about 9.15am. Everyone is so shocked."
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Morgan said last night: "Police were called by paramedics to Delamere Street, Bradford, at 9.15am today, following reports that a woman and child had been found unconscious outside the back of an address.
"The child, a two-year-old girl, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
"The woman, who is believed to be 36, was also taken to hospital, where she is currently being treated for her injuries. She remains in a critical condition.
"Inquiries into this incident are at an early stage, but we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
"I would ask anyone with information to call the police on 101."
