Popular TV chef Keith Floyd has revealed he is battling bowel cancer.
The 65-year-old, who has presented a series of TV shows, was diagnosed six weeks ago and is beginning a five-week course of chemotherapy.
Floyd said: '"I went to Spain six weeks ago to see my old doctor about a little growth. He said: 'Not very good news, I'm afraid, you've got bowel cancer'.
"It's not what you want to hear. Since then I've had endless operations. Five knife ops in total and they were 90% successful in cutting it out."
He added: "I'll have to make daily visits to Nimes Hospital. I'm not thrilled about it, no, but what can I do? I'll get through it."
Floyd first shot to fame in the 1980s when he became known for presenting his shows with a glass of wine in his hand.
He has worked on both the BBC and channel Five on programmes such as 'Floyd on France' and 'Floyd Uncorked'.
On top of this, Floyd also has a series of highly successful cookery books and a chain of restaurants.
