October may not be the best month for travelling. The holidays at the beach can be a risky proposition and the weather can be a bit too unpredictable.

But if you love the countryside and the marvellous beauty of the autumnal landscape, it’s a lovely time for touring- whether in the UK or on the continent. Moreover, it’s the season when all cultural capitals of Europe get into groove and the music, opera, ballet and other art exhibitions all kick off.
Here are a few suggestions for making this October one of the most memorable in your life.
Berlin
When it comes to cultural attractions, Berlin often loses to Paris, Vienna, and other cities in Italy. However, Berlin has some of the best musical performances, museums, and art galleries, and given its ice cold weather, this is the best month to pay a visit to this wonderful city.
Cambridge
Not many cities in the world have so many beautifully landscaped gardens framed by some lovely architecture in the whole of Britain. Then, there’s variety- from the simple attraction of neatly groomed lawns and terraces to the full-of-specimen Botanical Gardens. There is no better time to check this place out if you love gardens.
Peak District
If you fancy checking out the original and polished country houses, this is the place to be this October. Scattered all over the sprawling counties, set in their acres of lawns and parks, stand the lovely country houses which were once the homes of the noble, aristocratic rulers of the Empire. Visit this place for trails, cycling or checking out special houses such as Haddon Hall, Chatsworth before they close.
Normandy
It’s not surprising to hear that in the land of seafood and cider, many seasonal food festivals happen in October, especially those covering scallops, mushrooms, and apples at communes like Viller-Sur-Mar, Belleme, and Vimoutiers etc. This part of Europe offers fun for everyone, several entertainment options, and wide-ranging gastronomic treats.
There you have it. If you have not explored the great sights and real beauty of these places, October is a brilliant time to do it.
