A corporate event may be the best opportunity for your employees to have fun and establish rapport with one another. Still, if you're tired of hosting one team-building or cocktail party after another, it may be time to spice it up with a corporate family day. Corporate family days are popular for a reason, and they have proven to be one of the ideal ways for your employees to engage with your company. They are, after all, spending time with their loved ones in a great setting, with free entertainment, food, and more. But if you would like nothing more than a complete success for your event, here are some top tips for organising the best corporate family day.
- Make it exciting from the beginning
When sending out invitations, it pays to make it exciting from the beginning. Set the tone and mood with the right invitations, and build a lot of excitement for the event. Don't forget to give everyone details and instructions on how to get to the venue and tell them where they can park. It makes sense to create a system or database, so you will know whom you have invited and who has responded.
- Choose the right providers
Everyone knows how crucial it is to choose the right providers – be it for music or entertainment, catering, etc. Your providers and suppliers should have the proper insurance, for example – no ifs or buts about it. This is especially crucial for the venue, and other suppliers such as providers of rides or attractions, like fairground hire suppliers, who are responsible for ensuring the safety of their rides.
- Come up with the best activities
It may be easier said than done, but it can go a long way towards making everyone happy and satisfied if you have the appropriate activities. Remember that you will have kids at the event, and they will have the attention span of, well, 9-year olds. It's best to keep them wildly entertained, and you can easily do so with rides like the Ferris wheel and tilt-a-whirl, dodgem cars, and games and stalls like a tin can alley, coconut shy, and hook a duck. You can also hire face painters, set up arts and crafts booths, and set up a temporary tattoo booth. You can hire clowns, magicians, and balloon makers as well.
On the other hand, teenagers will love arcade games, and adults can have fun with photo booths in wacky costumes that can serve as perfect memorabilia for the day. The adults can also wind down with some great music from a live band, or you can hire a DJ so your guests can dance the night away.
- Establish the best team of volunteers and planners
Your corporate family day wouldn't be a success if you didn't have the right team of volunteers and planners, but it's also up to you to keep them organised. Make sure you have thought of every detail, from the setting up to the packing up, and get to know everyone involved. Get their contact numbers as well, which can be especially handy on the day of the event.
You will only have an extraordinary and fantastic event if everyone on your team works together and are united in making sure the event is a real success.
