But what should we expect to hear blasting through our radio speakers in 2013? Well, the BBC Sound of 2013 award makes predictions every year based on which artists will become popular. With this in mind, here’s our Top 5 bands for 2013…
5. Little Green Cars – this band are on the list of 15 bands expected to claim the Sound of 2013 award. Not sure what we think about the five-piece band from Dublin though. They’re number five on our Top 5 bands 2013 list.
4. Savages – there’s punk bands, then there’s punk bands made up entirely of women! Nice name though, but bear no resemblance to Savage Garden as far as we’re concerned!
3. Palma Violets – an indie band that are expected to be big in 2013. NME voted their song “Best of Friends” number one for 2012. They’re in our Top 5!
2. Peace – like the band Palma Violets, Peace are Brummies! Equipped with the usual guitar, bass and drums this Birmingham band is excellent at exciting audiences with their music! They rank number two in our Top 5 bands 2013.
1. AlunaGeorge - comprised of lead singer Aluna Francis and produced by George Reid, this duo creates an electric sound. They released their debut song “Your Drums, Your Love” in September 2012. It’s been a while since we can remember a band like this! That’s why they’re number one in our Top 5 bands 2013!
