Finally, a bloke won The Brit’s Critics’ Choice Award.
Previous winners include Florence Welch, Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Adele, and Jessie J. The award celebrates up-and-coming British acts and predicts success for the coming year.
Odell said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to win. I genuinely can’t believe it. Thank you so much.
"Looking at the list of amazing female artists who have won the award already, I just hope I don’t let the boys down.”
Odell, who signed up with Lily Allen ITNO label, has recently released his debut album ‘Songs From Another Love’ following the release with a performance on Later…with Jools Holland.
The 22-year-old singer has also been shortlisted for the BBC Sound of 2012 award.
