The Top League of Legends E-Sports Teams In 2020

Since its release in 2009, League of Legends has attracted millions of gamers around the world.

Numerous teams have been competing in the game for years, and we’ll be exploring the best LoL teams competing in 2020.

FunPlus Phoenix

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) is undoubtedly the best League of Legends esports team of 2020. They dominated their opponents in the 2019 League of Legends World Championships, beating Fnatic and Invictus Gaming in the quarterfinals and semi-finals, respectively. In the finals, FPX humiliated G2 Esports, too.

SK Telecom T1

SK Telecom T1 (SKT T1) takes pride in being ranked as the second-best LoL team in the world. The team hails from the Republic of Korea.

Unlike FunPlus Phoenix, which draws players from different countries, all SKT T1 players are Korean nationals. The team is composed of nine members, including Sang-Hyeok Lee (Faker), Lee Sang-Ho (Effort. Kr), Han Gyeo-Re (Leo.lol), and Sehyeong Jo (Mata).

Other participants are Dong-ha Kim (Khan. LoL), Min-Seung Kang (Haru), Kim Tae-min (Clid), Park Jin-Sung (Teddy.kr), and Kim Jae-Hee (Crazy-lol).

SKT T1 has participated in 294 games so far, winning 216 games and losing 78 games, which is a sturdy 73% win-rate.

Invictus Gaming

Invictus Gaming won the 2018 League of Legends World Championships. The Chinese team boasts an impressive amount of talent, including its solo laners – Rookies and TheShy – who hold a reputation for as the world’s best LoL players.

G2 Esports

G2 Esports is another one of the LoL teams to watch in 2020, with a 63% win-rate. The team boasts a GG Elo rating of 1,299, and, so far, it has won 154 matches and lost 82.

The team’s overall earnings stand at $1,783,938. While G2 Esports is a European team, it draws its players from different countries across the globe, including Jankos from Poland, Mikyz and Perkz from Croatia, and Promisq and Thebausffs from Sweden. Caps and Wunder from Denmark.

G2 Esports has participated in a number of online and offline tournaments. The offline tournaments include the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational, where they emerged second and bagged $338,000. The offline tournaments include the 2016 EU LCS Summer Playoffs, where they won and bagged $50,000.

Griffin

Though Invictus Gaming bundled Griffin out of the 2019 World Championships at the quarterfinals stage, it remains one of the world’s best LoL teams. The team takes pride in being one of the top LCK teams ever since qualifying to play in the LCK for the 2018 summer split.

Griffin won the LCK 2019 Spring and Summer Split, taking second place in the LCK 2019 Spring and Summer Playoffs.
