The top 50 best restaurants in the world

Copenhagen’s Noma has been selected as the best restaurant in the world. Both US and Spain each has seven on the top 50 restaurant list.

The top 50 best restaurants in the world has been formally announced which saw Danish restaurant, Noma grabbing the title of the globe’s best. 

 

The Copenhagen restaurant has regained its crown after it was bumped off last year by Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, which is this year’s second best. 

 

Noma, which can be found in a dockside warehouse, is a 45-seat restaurant that is famous for serving unusual dishes which include sea urchin toast, caramelised milk with cod liver, moss and cep, radish with yeast, and beef tartar and live ants. 

 

Meanwhile, Spain and the US were well represented in this year’s top list with each one having seven entries. 

 

El Celler de Can Roca, on the other hand, serves traditional Catalan dishes with creative twists. Just like Noma, it is known to serve unusual presentation of dishes including caramelised olives served on a bonsai tree. 

 

The UK had three restaurants in the top 50 including Dinner, which ranked fifth and the Fat Duck at number 47. The third one was The Ledbury in London in 10th position, meaning that two out of the top 10 restaurants in the world were located in England's capital.

 

Organised by British magazine Restaurant, the list was assembled by more than 900 industry experts from 26 regions around the globe.
