Microsoft founder Bill Gates is the world’s richest person according to the financial bible.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has regained the top spot as the world’s richest person, according to Forbes magazine’s annual ranking of global billionaires. Gates’ net worth was estimated at $76bn. He has been top of the list for 15 of the last 20 years.
The second spot belonged to Mexican telecoms tycoon Carlos Slim. He is followed by Amancio Ortega, the Spanish fashion executive and founding chairman of Zara clothing. Warren Buffet came in at number 4 with net worth of $58.2bn. Number 5 spot belongs to Larry Ellison with net worth of $48bn.
Meanwhile, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is the biggest gainer in net worth following a sharp rise in the price of the social network’s share. Facebook’s social network’s chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg, also made the list for the first time.
The United States, which is the world’s largest economy, continued to dominate with 492 billionaires. Europe came in second with 468 while Asia had 444 billionaires.
Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, is the first African to be listed in the top 25 with net worth of $25bn.
