The top 10 most famous fashion moments in the past 21 years

Arguably some of the most risqué moments in fashion have been voted most famous in a poll that celebrates 21 years of Designers at Debenhams.

A recent survey has revealed the top 10 most famous fashion moments in the past 21 years.

In at number one is Kylie Minogue wearing tiny gold hot pants in her 2000 video Spinning Around followed by Liz Hurley’s revealing Versace safety pin dress which she wore at the 1994 Four Weddings and a Funeral premiere. Rounding out the podium positions, in third place is Sarah Jessica Parker’s flamboyant style in Sex And The City, which made tutus and stilettos acceptable daytime attire.

Meanwhile, the Spice Girls made it to number four because of their love for platform trainers, glitz and general garishness. 

The poll celebrates 21 years of Designers at Debenhams.

A spokesperson said: 'Our customers have a keen eye for fashion and it was great fun to find out what they thought were the most memorable fashion moments since 1993 when the ground-breaking Designers at Debenhams concept was born.

'For the first time fashion fans could find bona-fide designer clothing in a high street department store. In one fell swoop designer wear became both accessible and affordable, an achievement we are very proud of.

'By bringing designer fashion to the high street, the retailer has given designers a much-needed commercial outlet which spans across every category from footwear to furniture.'
