The top 10 cities that the world's travellers long to visit

TripAdvisor has compiled the top 10 most desirable cities that travellers around the world want to visit the most.

TripAdvisor has released a rundown of the top 10 cities that the world’s travellers long to visit compiled based on the millions of reviews and ratings by travelers on their site. 

 

Topping the list is Istanbul. Formally known as Constantinople, this country is believed to have been built in the 4th century.

 

Rome ranked second followed by London. Fourth on this year’s list was Beijing. Even though it has been reported that the Chinese city has heavy air pollution, millions of travellers around the world are still hoping to visit it. 

 

The fifth and sixth place were awarded to Prague and Marrakech, respectively. Paris dropped to number 7 this year while Hanoi in Vietnam made it at number 8. Another Asian city, Siem Reap in Cambodia is at number 9. Completing the list is Shanghai in China at number 10. 

 

TripAdvisor also listed the UK version of the poll, highlighting the 10 places to visit in Britain.
