Here are the best ways to earn OSRS GP while AFK.

You can do plenty of AFK activities to skill up or earn OSRS GP. By AFK activities, most OSRS players understand low-click intensity activities or activities where you don't need to click or tap too often. This can go from a few seconds to up to 20 minutes between clicking sessions, depending on the activity you choose, and some will bring you a higher amount of OSRS gold than others.

AFK Method to Consider First

There are factors when doing the AFK methods we’ll be talking about. Namely, you need to consider the requirements to engage in these specific activities, which can vary greatly depending on each activity. Keep in mind that besides the OSRS GP, you'll also earn various amounts of XP by doing these activities, so they will ultimately contribute to your account progression in two ways: skill progression and gear progression as a result of earning OSRS gold.

Killing Skeletal Wyverns

Killing skeletal wyverns is a low click-intensive activity due to their high HP and defense. You will need a slayer level of 72 to harm them, and depending on your combat level and gear, you will be able to AFK in between 10 seconds and 1 minute in between kills. They consistently drop valuable loot, including herbs and OSRS items you can use high alchemy on.

This means that besides your boosting pots, prayer pots, and food, you might also want to carry high alchemy runes (nature and fire runes) and a herb pouch to make sure you grab everything.

Besides the slayer level, you will also need an elemental shield or any of its upgrades, such as the ancient wyvern shield, to fight these monsters, which means you must complete the elemental workshop quest for this AFK money-making method. The wiki estimates the hourly profit at around 800k OSRS GP per hour.

Killing the Kraken

Another AFK method to earn OSRS GP where you'll need a high slayer level is killing the Kraken. However, you can only kill the Kraken while on a Kraken task which means it's not an activity you will always be able to do. You can use slayer points to extend the task so that when you receive one, it will last longer.

Making Mahogany Planks

Starting at 86 magic, you'll be able to slowly AFK gaining magic XP and making some OSRS GP by making mahogany planks using the lunar spell plank make. You must have completed the Dream Mentor quest and the lunar diplomacy quest for the lunar spellbook.

It's also best to use a rune pouch filled with astral and nature runes and equip any elemental staff that will replace the earth runes for the spell, such as a lava battlestaff, dust battlestaff, mud battlestaff, or earth staff.

You'll also need to occupy one slot in your inventory with coins, as casting the spell requires coins. This will leave 26 free inventory slots for you to fill with mahogany logs, cast the spell, and AFK while the spell auto-casts on the rest of the logs. This will give you around 90 seconds of AFK time between depositing the planks and taking the logs out of your bank.

Ourania Altar

The Ourania altar or ZMI altar is a popular way to train the Runecraft skill. You can attempt trading another player running towards the altar, and even though no trading is allowed near the altar, this will start a pursuit of the player you're attempting to trade. Even though sometimes this can fail, and you'll need to start following someone else, it's a great way to obtain an unpredictable amount of AFK time while training one of the most tedious skills. You'll also earn an unpredictable amount of GP depending on your luck and Runecraft level.

Crafting Blood Runes

Crafting blood runes is a great way to get rich and train your Runecraft skill. You will AFK in between minimap clicks to move toward the blood altar. You will need level 77 Runecraft, optionally 78 mining, and 74 or 93 agility to use the shortcuts and make each run faster.

The Runecraft outfit from the Guardians of the Rift minigame will help you get 60 percent more runes increasing your hourly profit. You will also need pouches to craft more blood runes each trip and a blood tiara or talisman or their replacements (catalytic tiara or talisman).

Grimy Herbs

Cleaning most types of grimy herbs will give you some low Herblore XP and some profit. Similarly, to how the plank-making works, your AFK time will come from the time it takes to auto-cast the cleaning of a full inventory of grimy herbs in between the banking clicks. The profit will vary according to market prices, and your Herblore level will only affect the herbs you can clean rather than give you a more considerable advantage. You can take the process even further and combine the cleaned herbs with vials of water for even more profit, though this is a more tedious process with less AFK time that will grant no Herblore XP.

Making Sacred Oil

For this, you will need to unlock building the temple in Mort'ton with the Shades of Mort'ton quest. It's best to have three Morytania legs from completing the hard Morytania diary for easy teleports near the temple. A Flamtear bag and hammer are also needed. It is also recommended that you have a high combat level so that the shades don't damage you significantly. You will gain some crafting XP while building the temple, and you will need to invest around 50k OSRS GP to buy olive oil, Flamtear bracelets, timber beams, limestone bricks, swamp paste, and sell the sacred oil for over 800k OSRS gold during one hour. Even though the AFK time is unpredictable because you can get interrupted by shades, and it also depends on how many players are currently doing this activity, you'll be able to AFK anywhere between a few seconds and a few minutes.
