Robert Downey Jr, who earned an estimated $75 million for the year 2012 and 2013, an impressive feat that has crowned him the title of Hollywood’s highest paid actor for the second year running.
He topped Forbes’ annual ranking of the highest paid movie stars for the massive success of his Iron Man/Avengers movies.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson came in at number two with an estimated earnings of $52 million followed by Bradley Cooper with an estimated $46 million for portraying roles in various films including American Hustle and the final part of the Hangover franchise. Two Oscar nominations in as many years certainly didn’t hurt his earnings either.
Leonardo DiCaprio is at number four with estimated earnings of $37 million having worked back to back on Django Unchained, The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street. He is followed by action hero leading man Liam Neeson ($36 million) and actor/director Ben Affleck ($35 million). Also included in the list were box office favourites Will Smith and Mark Wahlberg.
Meanwhile, the usual Forbes’ frontrunners Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise failed to secure a place on the rundown.
