The 'best players in Europe': Messi and Suárez among Europe's Top 10 stars of the season

Candidates for “Best Player in Europe” include are Leo Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar Jr, Javier Mascherano, and Ivan Rakitic.

UEFA has published its top 10 best players list of the season. The list included Leo Messi and Luis Suarez who were selected by journalists from across the Europe.

On August 14, there will be another voting round whereby the shortlisted top 3 will be announced. The three finalists will vie for the title “Best Player in Europe” and will be crowned on August 28 during the Champions League ceremony in Monaco.

FC Barcelona forward Mess has previously won the award as well as Andres Iniesta and Ribery.

Both Messi and Suarez finished out last season with excellent numbers. The Argentinian scored a total of 41 goals for Barca. While Messi and Suaréz finished in the Top 10, FC Barcelona’s Neymar Jr, Javier Mascherano and Ivan Rakitic also received strong votes from the jury.
