Technology turn-offs and turn-ons: The dating mistakes you make with your mobile phone
Using the wrong amount of kisses in a text is the worst technological turn-off, according to a new study.

TalkTalk Mobile has recently conducted a study to reveal the biggest turn ons and turn offs when it comes to romantic phone etiquette.
The study, which was participated by 1,000 Britons, says that the biggest turn off is using the wrong amount of kisses in a text and this applies in both new romances and long-term relationships.
Respondents said that sending fewer kisses in a text than a partner is considered impolite and a brush off.
Other turns off include answering the phone at dinner, texting after 11 pm, resending the same text if no response is received, switching it on in the cinema, and emailing pointless small talk. When it comes to reasons why partners lose interest, overuse of acronyms such as LOL was mentioned. The study says that this makes the sender seem overly keen or too needy.
On the other hand, the major turn-ons include texting a partner good night, replying to messages within two hours, and asking questions to stimulate conversation.
Dan Meader of TalkTalk Mobile, told MailOnline: "Nearly 70 per cent of us know someone with bad phone manners - although only a fifth of us thought our own phone manners may be in need of improvement - so our top tips aim to help people weave their way through the web that is modern phone etiquette."
Meanwhile, Jo Bryant, etiquette expert at Debretts, added: "Mobile phones allow us to communicate instantly, with ease and spontaneity, but as the TalkTalk Mobile survey results show, consideration for others is essential for good mobile phone manners."
Phone dating: What to do and what not to do:
- Do keep flirting to text – don’t try and pull it off on a call.
- Do give your date your full attention by turning off your phone at the cinema or when you’re out for a meal.
- Avoid committing the mistake of calling your partner when you’re drunk by giving your mobile phone to a friend.
- Do reply to texts with a couple of hours.
- Text your partner good morning and goodnight everyday.
- Don’t break up with your partner by text.
- Don’t resend the same text if you did not get a reply.
- Don’t text unnecessary small talk.
- Don’t overuse acronyms like LOL, K, G2G.
- And lastly, don’t put more or fewer kisses than the other person.
