Delta Wellbeing is harnessing the benefits of available technology to ensure that vulnerable people get the help they need during lockdown and isolation.
Formerly known as Carmarthenshire Council's Careline service, Delta Wellbeing provides proactive wellbeing calls, access to a rapid response team 24/7 and community-based support across Carmarthenshire Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
Justine Trotman, IAA/SLAT officer at Delta Wellbeing, said: "I think knowing there is a friendly voice at the end of the phone makes a world of difference during this time."
"I have been making welfare calls to older and more vulnerable members of our community", he continued.
"I check to see if they have access to food and medication and spend time talking to them when they feel anxious or isolated. I have also been speaking to some of their carers who are feeling the pressure of no respite, isolation and burn out."
Delta Wellbeing was formed in 2018 with the goal to support the growing health and social care needs in Wales. It focuses on providing preventative support that people require to live in their homes for longer.
An elderly gentleman who was struggling after he lost his wife and who was contacted by Delta Wellbeing, said: "Thank you for phoning and asking how I am. I'm feeling better today and thanks for making sure I'm getting my shopping and medication. I'll be clapping for Delta Wellbeing on Thursday."
