The first TechSwindon Summit, a virtual event that aims to promote and celebrate the region's burgeoning tech sector, will take place from November 2 and 6.
The free event will bring together world-class speakers and business owners who will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects to attract additional talents and businesses to the area. It will host more than 20 events including seminars and workshops from brands like Comptia, British Computer Society and BT.
Swindon Borough Council leader Coun David Renard said: “Technology underpins almost every industry and job, and with over 10,000 people locally working in this area, it is vital to Swindon’s economic recovery and growth.
“The TechSwindon campaign was launched at the Switch On To Swindon event last year, and although 2020 has been a tough year for businesses locally and globally, the tech sector is expected to remain resilient.
“Swindon is home to some of the best tech talent in the UK, with small and large companies alike creating world-class products and innovations and I’m thrilled that this event will show this to the world.”
Fluff Digital CEO Scott Gulliver said: “As a new start-up, it’s great to know we are part of a wider community where we can find support and guidance alongside opportunities to contribute to the town where we started it all.
“TechSwindon is enabling some great conversations and opportunities that really allow us to grow and connect with customers and partners.”
