Susan Boyle, the 52-year-old runner up turned superstar of Britain’s Got Talent, has reportedly applied for a minimum wage job as cashier at bookmakers Ladbrokes.
Apparently, the singer – who is managed by Simon Cowell - found the ad on Thursday afternoon and entered Ladbrokes in Blackburn, Lothian to apply for the position.
Deputy Manager David Corr, who spoke to the singer, said that staff members were shocked to see her inside the shop. He said: ‘Susan Boyle walked into the shop and inquired about the job advertised in our window. We were all in shock.’
One resident in the town said: ‘She explained she was really keen on working there and she lives nearby.
‘Obviously she doesn’t need the money so I think she saw it as a way of getting her out of her house and taking her mind off things.’
