Kate Bosworth and Brandon Routh wowed fans at the London premiere of 'Superman Returns' last night (13.07.06).

They spent 30 minutes talking and signing autographs for the hundreds of fans who had been queuing for hours in the West End's Leicester Square to meet their idols.

Both stars even said that the UK premiere was better than the US event, because so many more people had come to see them.

Routh, who plays the Man of Steel, said: "I've never seen anything like this before. It's very strange."

Bosworth, who plays Lois Lane, had dyed her hair back to its signature blonde and dazzled on the red carpet in a stunning backless mini-dress.

Kevin Spacey, who plays villain Lex Luther in the film, was also in attendance, as were pop singer Natalie Imbruglia and British boy band McFly.

Bosworth's boyfriend Orlando Bloom was not present as he is busy promoting 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'.

She said: "Both having movies out doesn't affect us. We're very supportive of each other."
