The Seattle Seahawks have emerged to be the big winner at the Superbowl, thrashing a badly misfiring Denver Broncos 43 to 8.
Weeks before US biggest annual event, there were talks as to whether Denver’s veteran offence Peyton Manning could be contained by Seattle’s number one-ranked defence. However, Manning didn’t deliver and admitted that his team didn’t do their jobs better.
He said: "We knew they were fast.”
"It was still a matter of us doing our jobs better and we didn't do that.
"I think we played a great football team. We needed to play really well in order to win and we didn't come anywhere close to that."
He has now lost 12 of 23 post-season games - more than any other player in NFL history.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, on the other hand, explained why they are this year’s champion. He said: "We've been relentless all season. We had the talent. We had the coaching. We have the best fans in the National Football League. We wanted to win it all."
Russell Wilson became, at 25 years and 65 days, the third-youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed an eclectic half-time show at the event.
