Netflix increases subscription fees in the UK.
17:50 10 June 2019
Netflix has recently announced price increase in the UK.
The standard tariff, where customers pay £7.99 to stream TV shows and movies to two devices at the same time, will now pay £8.99. Meanwhile, customers that are currently streaming to four devices simultaneously will have to pay £2 more per month or £11.99 monthly.
The price increase will apply to existing customers over the next few weeks while new subscribers will pay the higher charges immediately.
Netflix says the price increase “reflects the significant investments we've made in new TV shows and films."
Currently the most successful streaming service in the market, Netflix is the company behind Stranger Things, The Crown and Black Mirror. It is now facing stiff competition as Amazon, Disney, Apple and even the BBC and ITV are working on the same type of service.
