DirecTV, AT&T’s streaming TV service for cord cutters, is offering new exciting features including cloud DVR, TV pausing and parental controls. The cloud DVR is among the most anticipated as it allows viewers to save shows and movies for later viewing.
The cloud DVR, which is now a common feature of live TV streaming providers including Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, YouTube TV and PlayStation Vue, is expected to help Streaming DirecTV boost the number of its sign-ups.
The company said that it will debut a beta testing program that will allow invited users to use the cloud DVR this summer. Beta testers are able to offer general feedback about the app’s interface and share other opinions and suggestions.
This new generation TV platform will begin to roll out publicly this fall to both streaming DirecTV companion app users and streaming DirecTV Now subscribers. It will also power all of AT&T video offerings including NFL Sunday Ticket and U-verse.
