Stroke-on-Trent Council to invest £300,000 in audio-visual equipment as part of a post-Covid move to 'agile working'.

Leaders at Stroke-on-Trent City Council has confirmed decision to invest £300,000 in upgrading meeting rooms as part of a post-Covid move to 'agile working'. 

 

Under the new proposals, speakers, cameras and large TV screens will be installed in dozen of rooms at Stroke-on-Trent City Council. The audio-visual equipment will allow staff and elected members to work from home and attend virtual meetings. 

 

The report states: "There are numerous benefits that can be derived from an investment in AV, the most notable being that traditional meetings can still take place, but staff can join and participate actively from any location.

 

"Those staff joining remotely can see the meeting room and those participants within, and for those physically in the room the images of the staff joining remotely will be presented on the screens. Audio will also be two-way and the ability to share documents digitally will become common place, cutting down on paper.

 

"These functional benefits will lead to a much-improved way of working, staff will no longer have to travel across the city, region and even nationally for meetings. Not only will this benefit the green agenda, but it will also reduce the cost of travel and hosting meetings."
