Gwen Stefani broke her finger while dressmaking.

The singer was rushing to finish samples for her fashion label L.A.M.B when one got stuck in her sewing machine.

While trying to save the fabric, Gwen's finger was bent back and snapped leaving her shrieking in pain.

A source is quoted in Britain's Mirror newspaper as saying: "Gwen was up against a deadline for samples. She forgot to lock down the settings and when the material ripped she tried to save it."

Gwen - who is eight months pregnant with her first child - was rushed to hospital by her husband, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale.

Doctors have revealed that she suffered a fracture and a brace was put on the damaged digit to aid the healing process.
