Catherine Zeta-Jones has checked herself into a mental health facility, suffering from bipolar disorder, it has been confirmed.
This news comes after a traumatic year for the actress, whose husband Michael Douglas underwent treatment for throat cancer.
Her rep announced in a statement:
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check into a mental health facility for a brief stay.
"She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."
The 41-year-old was admitted to the Silver Hill psychiatric hospital, where doctors are believed to have treated her for bipolar II disorder, a condition that involves extreme mood swings.
Last year, Michael battled stage four throat cancer and endured both chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
The Oscar-winning actor was given the all-clear in January, six months after he was diagnosed.
The couple have two children together, son Dylan, 10, and daughter Carys, seven.
