Squirrel Drives Mechanic Nuts

An elderly driver discovered why her Honda Civic couldn’t go faster than 40mph – a squirrel filled the engine with nuts

An elderly driver, who couldn’t figure out why her Honda Civic couldn’t go faster than 40mph, decided to take her car to a local garage where a bag of nuts was discovered sitting on its engine. 

 

Mechanics completed series of tests before they decided to lift the bonnet and discovered that every space and opening had been filled with nuts. 

 

The owner of the garage, David Evans, said: ‘It was rammed solid with nuts.’

 

‘I’ve been doing this job for 18 years and I’ve never seen anything like it. I couldn’t believe it.

 

‘(The animal) had been getting into the garage, where she parked the car, and had been climbing right inside the engine bay and squeezing himself into the air filter.’
