British actress Lucy Gordon has been found dead, police have confirmed.

Gordon, who starred in 'Spider-Man 3' as a British reporter, was found hanged in her flat in Paris. It is thought that she had committed suicide.

Her father, Richard Gordon, said: "We have always been immensely proud of her and her achievements. We love her so much.

"She was called Lucy and she has lived up to that. She has been the light of our lives...

"She was a lovely, generous, unselfish person who gave her all for others and thought of others before herself."

Gordon starred her career as model for make-up gian Cover Girl, before becoming an actress. She appeared in the 2002 film 'The Four Feathers' alongside Heath Ledger.

The actress will appear as Jane Birkin in 'Serge Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life by Joann Sfar'. The film is due to be released next year.
