·       Amazon Echo – All things considered, Amazon Echo, which pioneered the entire category, remains the best smart speaker in this arena. It supports a growing number of smart home devices including Honeywell and Nest Smart Thermostats, LIFX smart light and Philips Hue bulbs and even the Samsung SmartThings platform that extends to even more devices.

 

·       Google Home – Google Home come in a close second and is perfect for Chromecast owners and inquisitive types. It connects to fewer devices than the Echo but sounds slightly better. Experts believe that Home is ahead of Echo in terms of catching up to the market leader.
